It slightly leaks at the thread, but in the tightening direction - which means it won't interfere with draining the liquid, seal with glue or Teflon and it should be fine, there's a metal ball bearing inside, an aluminum housing plus everything shown in the pictures - overall I recommend it - I bought it as an option for a vacuum pump - in which the check valve stopped working - I think it will be useful.
